Digitizing


What is it?


Digitizing is the process of taking any design or artwork, and turning it into a language that a computerized embroidery machine can translate into stitches.


Digitizing combines the machine's running, satin and fill stitches to create the embroidery design.

What we need?


Image:

All we need is a clear image of your design, artwork or logo. You can send it by email, fax or mail. We prefer a scanned digital image emailed in a compress format like ".jpeg" or ".gif" (this is the same image format found on Internet images). Images sent by fax are not reliable because are distorted and colorless.


Dimensions:

We need to know the dimensions of your final embroidery, like width and height. Some restrictions may apply, for example, the maximum height for a cap is 5.5 centimeters (2 1/4").


Colors:

We need to know the colors you want on your embroidery. You can choose from many different colors we have available on stock. But, embroidery machines usually handle 9 and 12 colors, so you have to keep this in mind when you create your design.


Material:

It's very important to know what type of material is going to be embroidered, like cotton, polyester, lycra, etc. Depending on the material used we set up the density of the stitches and the tension of the thread to assure quality of the final product.

Emblems


Every embroidery machine brand has a different format, so we need to know what format do you need. We use the WINgs Commander III system. This software allows to save the design in the following formats:


    * Tajima: .dst

    * Melco .exp

    * Brother .pec

    * Pfaff .pcs

    * Barudan .dst

Prices


The price of our digitizing service is determined by number of stitches, but we consider many factors, as: complexity, change of colors, filling areas, text, etc.


Even if we have a price based on number of stitches, all design will have a consideration based on these factors.


Editing a previously digitized image will be quote depending of the modification needed.


If you contract us to embroider your design, the digitizing price will be reduced or even waived depending on the number of pieces to be embroidered and if we don't have to deliver you the design file.
